Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #66
It’s time for Friendly Fill-Ins again. The weeks just keep speeding by like a runaway train. I’m afraid to blink for fear when I open my eyes, it will be Christmas.
This is a blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Each select two incomplete sentences, and participants fill-in the blanks. It’s a terrific way to get to know your fellow bloggers. To join the blog hop, click on the Fill-Ins badge.
I found this week’s sentences to be particularly challenging. Sometimes one or more of Kitties Blue will do the fill-ins, but I have done them all this week. My completions are in teal italics.
1. Blind dates led to the marriage of Astrid to Sampson (Kitty Cat Chronicles). It all started with my post, Match.Cat, on January 30, 2014. All the girls were looking for dates for the upcoming Valentine’s Day Dance, so I posted their bios on-line with the hope of getting dates for them. (Mau didn’t need to advertise. He and Allie already were boyfriend and girlfriend.)
Here are Astrid and Sampson on that first blind date.
2. Twenty-one years ago, I was a scorekeeper for indoor volleyball at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Dad Tom was a referee.
3. I admire Kevin (meowmeowmans) and Tracey Hatori (Animal Shelter Volunteer Life) who give so generously of their time as volunteers at PAWS of Connecticut because the job requires more than just playing with kittens. Not all animals in shelters are friendly and loving nor are all jobs fun; cages and litter boxes require cleaning after all. I know Kevin and Tracey would agree the thanks that come in the way of head butts, kisses, purrs and kneading make it all worthwhile.
4. When I see the divorce rate, it makes me think how fortunate I am to have a great husband and to have been married for 44 years.
See you tomorrow for Caturday Art and then it is time for selfies again.
Mee-yow 44 yearss iss pawsum Aunty Janet an Unccle Tom!!!
**nose rubsss** Siddhartha Henry xxx
Five years is an accomplishment, 44 is something special. I’m going on 18 and we might make it if Puck stops peeing on the floor.
We give a big paws up to Tracey and Kevin too. They really give back to the animals.
44 years is an accomplishment. After 17 years together, there are days when I think another 10 minutes might not be possible 😉
How cool to work at the Olympics! Astrid and Sampson make a beautiful couple!
Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Sorry the fill-ins were not cat friendly this week. I love the photo of you and your hubby at the Olympics, that is most impressive. Very sweet story of a good blind date 🙂 Yes, you are lucky to have a good marriage, I am lucky too. And I also admire anyone who volunteers to help with rescues. Have a great weekend. XO

And of course your blog:)
Kitty rescue is a furry needed thing, but one day maybe not so much…we pray…
You have about 9 years on us in the married life of love and togetherness:)
The Hubby and I are too stubborn to divorce; we said we’d do it and we WILL! Been together since 1981, for gosh sakes! And who would get the cats? Oh, it isn’t worth thinking about…hehehe!

We love your answer! Astrid and Sampson, your love story is so romantic. And the Olympics? That must be a fun memory! I could not agree with you more on #3 – Kevin and Tracey are true inspirations! And I know what you mean by #4. My parents have been married for almost 30 years. Your 44 years is so fantastic!
Great fill-ins……my Mom said so! We think all those involved in fostering/rescuing/volunteering are AMAZING – thanks to them, many of us are HERE today. We think it’s totally cool that you and Mr. Tom were at the Olympics together “working”……! Mom says you’re right about 44 years being a long time to be married – it’s SPECIAL.
Love and Happy Friday
Teddy
Well, those were interesting! I remember #1. I think you told me #2. Very cool memory! I totally agree with you about the Hatori’s. Heroes! It is a lot of work. And so worthwhile.
Amen to #4! I cannot imagine life without Bill. Hugs to you & Tom…and Kitties Blue.
