Kitties Blue Health Update
It was my turn to be stuffed in a SleepyPod and hauled off to the vet on Wednesday. Yep, I got the eye “icks” too! I made the humans aware of my displeasure all the way there and most of the way back with loud protestations and tinkling in the SleepyPod.
The humans are getting better at recognizing this persistent and spreading infection. I had no fever and did not require an injection or any oral meds. But I am getting that goopy eye ointment. I have an ulcer on my eye as well. No one else has one of those. I knew I was special! It will probably take longer to heal than the infection will take to clear up, and I have to go back to the vet for a re-check. Again, special me! None of the others got to do that. Though we were told scar tissue may form, it should not occlude my vision.
Mau has two more days of meds and eye ointment, and his eye is looking good. We just need a few more purrs and prayers asking that I am the end of the line for this infection.
Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #90
Now that I am done with the health update, I am going to do the fill-ins. It is my compensation for being maligned so badly in the post, “Mini Rant on Tuxie Tuesday.” My fursibs were unkind, and they hurt my feelings. If Mom and Dad think the new collar with cute pandas is remuneration enough for that post as well as the trip to the vet, they are delusional.
My completions are in teal italics.
1. The flu shot is something Dad and Mom get every year. It hasn’t stopped them from getting the flu every year, but Mom can only remember a couple of times getting it in the last 35+ years. We kitties are wishing some type of vaccine existed to keep us from passing around the icky eyes.
2. I think everyone should take time to nap daily.
3. I (almost) always sleep on Mom’s pillow, because I can!
4. I (almost) never am nice to Astrid, because it is so easy to assert my authority over her and make her scream.
Friendly Fill-Ins is a weekly blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). They each provide two incomplete sentences to be filled in by participants. You can find the sentences on their blogs every Thursday. To participate in the blog hop, click on the Fill-Ins badge. You will be taken to Annie’s blog to enter your link.
Purrs and paw-pats, Misty May
I hope this eye infection dissipates. Is it FVR or FHV-1? Is this something that Sawyer brought in? I hope Cooper Murphy can get over this without repercussion.
I love the photo of Misty May. What a cutie! Chloe Jo sleeps on my pillow. I pretty much give her total reign, though the others call it a reign of terror. She can be rather controlling.
I love you guys.

I sing a lot on the way to *that* place too, but mostly I am quiet on the way back, knowing that its home where we are headed. Sorry that you now have that infection, Misty May. What a bummer. I hope you will soon be as good as new!

Oh no, I hope you get better quickly!
Of all your siblings, we bet you made it known just how you felt about this vet thing, M&M (Misty May … M&M … oh, boy … my kitties just groaned). I’m so glad Bear stopped getting those eye infections (knock on wood). Kitty never got it – but she stayed as far away as possible from him. I hated wiping that ointment on Bear’s eye(s). I imagine it didn’t feel very good and messed with his vision for a little while. I never caught him trying to paw it off though … so I’m thankful for that!
Misty Mae you sure told them. Geez that infection sure is strong…went through the Blue kitties like a flame. Kali and I will purr for everyone in the Blue family to feel better.
Shoko
We hope you feel better soon, Misty May! It sure looks like you told them exactly what you thought of the whole vet experience.
Oh Misty May! We’re sorry you got the eye ick now. We sure hope you’re the last Kitty Blue to get it. Hope you and the others are better soon.
I am so sorry that you had to go to the evil vet. I hope you have a quick recovery. I do like the new collar. Thank you for your fill-in answers, I enjoyed them except for the last one. It is not nice to be a bully, we have a lot of that around here too. I completely agree about naps though 🙂 XO
we hope ya get ta feelin soooper better sooper fast MM ~~ ♥♥
Poor Misty May! It’s good that you tinkled in the sleepypod, and howled on the trip there AND back! Assert yourself, girlfriend! Hope you eye ickies recede quickly, and that the next vet trip earns you some treats!
We hope you are the last of the Kitties Blue that gets the eye ick. Your Fill-ins are super! Allie is sending love and healing purrs and tons of smoochies to her sweet Mau.
The Florida Furkids
Hopefully you’ll be last in line to get the eye ick. Sending healing thoughts to all the Kitties Blue.
Still praying that icky eye stops making the rounds and everyone heals well and quickly!
It’s so awful when the ick spreads through the house and I know the peeps always feel so helpless. I enjoyed your fill ins and if somebody doesn’t want their nap, I’ll take it!
We had the eye ick problem spread around the house a year and a half ago and that was no fun. I hope it goes away soon.
It looks like you made your feelings WELL KNOWN about the eye ick and vet visit dear Misty May. I hope you get rid of that ick quickly and am sorry you have an ulcer on your eye but GLAD it won’t hurt your vision. Yes you are special! We keep hoping the ICK will leave your house forever but it seems to find each of you in turn – we have been praying it will vanish and NOT get the remainder of the KB Krew! We do like your fill-ins but I must say I wish you and Astrid could be friends……in a house full of kitties you have lots of chances for friendships……I’m just friends with ME!!
Love, Teddy
That is a bummer that the eye ick is making rounds in your house! I hope this is it, and nobody else catches it!
