Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Our “poem” today for angel Sammy and Teddy’s Thoroughly Poetic Thursday is more of a dream and a plea than a poem. I did use one of the prompt words for this week, which features the letter “I.” Those words are (1 Imagine, (2 Idiot, (3 Iron and (4 Icky.
Imagine
Imagine a world with no homeless cats.
Imagine a world with no hungry cats.
Imagine a world where cats are not euthanized.
Imagine a world where shelters are unnecessary.
Imagine a world where every cat has a loving home.
Now stop imagining and do something!
Rescue, TNR, sponsor, foster, adopt, volunteer.
Together we can end the cycle
Of too many cats and not enough homes.
It’s not impossible.
It just takes time, dedication and effort.

Kitties Blue and I know those of you who read our blog feel the same way as we do and that most of you are doing what you can toward making this dream a reality. Maybe it won’t happen in my lifetime, but I pray this will become a reality in the not very distant future.

Comment-a-thon Winner
It’s taken a little longer than Mau and Allie would have liked to let you know the winner of their Anniversary Comment-a-thon. The first person selected by Random.org did not respond to our e-mails, so we moved on to the second name.
The winner is Linda Arthur Tejera from Living With My Ancestors. She selected Florida Poodle Rescue to receive the donation of $80. We are making the donation in memory of her Maltese, Emmy, who was adopted from Florida Poodle Rescue in 2000. Emmy got her wings in July, 2014. She certainly was a cutie.
Thankful Thursday
Finally, as we do each Thursday, we are joining Brian’s blog hop. This week we kitties are ever so thankful that the heat wave has ended. Our temps are in the 80s during the day. That’s hotter than Mom likes, but it is purrfect catio weather.
We also are thankful for the new screen doors on the catio. The old ones had solid panels at the bottom, but the new ones have screen all the way to the bottom (with mesh in between). Now we can lie on our bellies and watch the birdies land on the unscreened part of the deck and then scare them! So much fun. Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy joined up yesterday afternoon for this new game. Sorry, we don’t have photos.

Hope your Thursday is a thankful one as well.

We love that poem and that would be purrfct! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
I would like a world where there were no homeless domestic animals: no homeless cats or dogs. It is happening right here in our own country. It is worse in areas along the US/MX border, as this is a serious widespread problem there. Bill used to go there often on business. But, areas in the US have wild dog problems that are similar to the feral cats. But, there is no TNR program for these dogs. No one is doing anything about it. It is sad, because these are domestic animals. They deserve homes. We, as a society, have done this. We are the only ones who can fix it. It breaks my heart. Food for thought.
Congrats to the lucky winner who got to choose the rescue. That was sweet of you to do a commentathon. I love that poem, what a prefect world that would be. I agree, we each need to do something and be part of the solution. XO
Oh, your poem is beyond beautiful. I pray ever day that it comes true. Each and every furbaby deserves a loving forever home.
(P.S. Yesterday I found Fiona’s drawing, from my “Fiona the Ferrier” poem, on my desk here at home. It’s all ready to be sent to you, but I somehow forgot the actual step of sending it to you. I don’t know what my brain is doing up there half the time. Fiona the Ferrier will be on her way to you shortly!)
Everything in that poem deserves to come true. We are both so happy Mom adopted us. Thank you for such beautiful words.
Stereo purrs……….Hemingway and Steinbeck
What a beautiful poem and the dream of everyone who loves kitties. I’m so grateful for the seven furrbaby kits in my home. I wish it could be more but I want to make sure I can provide a safe and lovely home with toys and food! Thank you so much for giving me an opportunity to give back to Florida Poodle Rescue. Emmy was such a dear and she loved the kitties. Big hugs for making this possible. 😀 <3
That’s a beautiful poem, and we totally agree. Paws up for the donation ! Purrs
Oh that is a wonderful poem……we imagine no more homeless animals or humans all the time and hope that one day it’s a reality. Homeless means no “anchor” – no “safe place” and that’s so very sad. Thanks for pawticipating in Angel Sammy’s poetry challenge. You guys are wonderful and we love you!
Hugs, Teddy
I love your poem and I agree with it 100%!
A world wif no homeless cats would be pawsome.
Great advice.
