Sparks: Week #25
When I was creating art for the Caturday Art blog hop, I produced this design. I did like the final product but decided not to use it. However, it seemed appropriate to use as the basis for today’s Sparks blog hop.
This is not a traditional Spark. It doesn’t offer an inspirational or uplifting quote. Regardless, it spoke to me. As most of you reading this have animals in your lives that you dearly love, I thought it would resonate with you as well.
The author of this quote, Ingrid Newark, is an English-born British-American animal rights activist. She is the founder (with Alex Pacheco) and president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). PETA is the world’s largest animal rights organization. Newkirk has worked in the animal-protection movement since 1972. In the 1970s, under her leadership, as the District of Columbia’s first female poundmaster, legislation was passed to create the first spay/neuter clinic in Washington, D.C., as well as an adoption program and the public funding of veterinary services. (Information from Wikipedia.)
I am joining Annie at McGufffy’s Reader for her Sparks blog hop. In establishing the hop, she wrote, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!” This is what makes Sparks so special and why I look forward to participating each week.

Beautifully done. I am so glad that you love Sparks, too. I believe in being a part of the solution, not part of the problem. When all else fails…!
Chloe Jo is struggling right now. She isn’t eating very well. She has an occasional accident, it seems she wakes up needing to go, so does not always make it. It really upsets her. I was surprised that you did not comment about Chloe Jo.
As for me, tests show that my Sarcoidosis is active right now. I suspected that. Not sure what I can do about it, though.
Love you lots, my friend. Sparks: 25

This is beautiful in every way. Sometimes a quote that speaks to us is inspiring in its own way, even if it doesn’t necessarily say something outright uplifting. I believe this wonderful sentiment is one of those, and I find it a perfect Spark.
I agree. I feel the same way.
Have a purrfect day filled with wonderful Sparks. Scritches to all the babies. ♥
That’s a wonderful Spark and a beautiful photo!!
The Florida Furkids with tons of smoochies and love to Mau from Allie
I think that is a wonderful spark and beautiful photo to go with it. XO
We enjoyed your Spark and the delivery kitty too!
What a great SPARK and superimposing the quote over that beautiful photo of Giulietta is perfect. It brings me joy to see Teddy happy – just as it always has done with all the cats I’ve ever had the pleasure of sharing my life with. I care deeply that he is happy and healthy and respect their “right” to expect that of their human caretakers. Before I go may I say that the blog background is PRECIOUS – I love it……it makes me smile!
Hugs, Pam (and Teddy Bean too!)
