Thoroughly Poetic and Thankful Thursday
Our poem today for Angel Sammy’s poetical Thursday is or entry into Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop as well. Our poem also is a review for a great new product, the PetSafe FroliCat Fox Den. This week’s prompt letter is “K.”
Kitties Just Like to Have Fun
Kitties are fun; they love to play
And kick up their paws all day,
Until they fall over for a long nap,
Probably in their human’s lap.
It’s fun to play with another cat’s tail
But with a claw the player might be impaled.
So a faux tail created as a toy
Is a unique thing any kitty would enjoy.
The Fox Den toy from FroliCat
Offers a darting tail for a cat to bat.
Just turn it on and watch the action;
It is definitely a cat attraction.
Kitties Blue are such lucky kitties
To receive this PetSafe FroliCat giftie.
They only need to give it a fair review
Then give a Fox Den to one of you.
Leave a comment for a chance to win.
Your kitty will play with it again and again.

Still being a kitten and full of energy, Cooper Murphy has been enjoying the FroliCat Fox Den more than the others. And it does keep him from attacking the tails of his fursibs.
The fox tail moves in and out of the den as well as back and forth to attract and keep your cat’s attention.
We first set up the Fox Den in the kitchen on the tile floor but have since moved it to carpet. Cooper Murphy caught his claw in the tail and managed to flip over the Fox Den one time and drag it across the floor another. On the carpet, it stays put. (All photos show it on the tile.)
The Fox Den requires three AA batteries. It has a flat integrated button on the side to turn on the toy. When pressed quickly, the unit will start a ten-minute play session.
Though PetSafe recommends that cats be supervised when playing with all toys, the FroliCat Fox Den does have a Play-All-Day mode. When in this mode, the toy will turn on for ten minutes then rest for two hours prior to turning on again. This mode lasts for six-and-one-half hours. During this time, a motion sensor is also on. Should a cat walk within three to four feet of the front of the toy, it will turn on for a two-minute play session. The Fox Den may be turned off anytime during the Play-All-Day mode.
The Kitties have not tried the Play-All-Day mode as Dad Tom and I have been home and able to turn on the Fox Den whenever one of Kitties Blue (usually Cooper Murphy) shows an interest.
Kitties Blue, especially the youngsters, give a paws-up recommendation for this fun toy.
As stated in the poem, we are giving away one PetSafe FrolicCat Fox Den to a reader. To have the opportunity to win, please leave a comment on this post prior to next Wednesday, March 1, at 5 p.m. EST. Winner will be announced the following day.
We have another fun toy from PetSafe FrolicCat, which we will be reviewing and giving away next week.
Disclosure: Kitties Blue received two PetSafe FroliCat Fox Dens free of charge—one to test and review and one to give away to a reader. We were not financially compensated for this post. The opinions are completely my own and those of Kitties Blue based on our experiences.

Oh dear – that tail thing sure does look like fun. i would like to enter for the drawing of that please. Thanks for offering it.
Oh my! Mom says that looks like something that could keep us occupied for hours!!! We told her to be sure and leave a comment so that’s what she’s doing. We have our paws crossed! 🙂
We think Yang and Chimera would love it.
We think We saw this fox tail thingy reviewed elsewhere also. If We had something like this, it might purr-suade Some of Us (who shall be nameless) to pounce on something other than Trixie’s tail.
What a fun little toy! Kitten-like Fergus would very much appreciate something like this–as would senior cat Maggie (who ends up being a very unwilling play partner from time to time).
Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie
MOL Look at all the attention the tail is getting. This would be so much fun for us. I don’t know if we can enter because we’re Canadian but it sure is a nifty toy.
Shoko and Kali
That sure looks like a fun toy! And if it keeps Cooper Murphy from messing with the other Blue Kitties’ tails … double score! 🙂
That looks like it could be fun. What a great giveaway.
It’s always great to see cats playing together so well! Love the art too
I love the poem and they look like they are having a lot of fun! I have 4 cats that would enjoy this too. My oldest is 12 and I am always looking for toys and treats to keep her active and feeling great! My other 3 are young cats and love playing.
I would like to win the FroliCat Fox for my cats! It looks like a really cute, fun toy.
That is hilarious! My cat would destroy it! I wonder how long it would survive.
I would love to chance to win this cute toy for my cat. I think he would freak him out and provide tons of playtime at the same time.
I have 2 cats, one is the mother to the other. They often get on very well with each other till the mother cat is pregnant again. Since then she seems to be annoyed by her daughter and can’t really share food or shelter. I hope this period passes by 🙁
What a great toy!!! I may even have to get one for Chloe…she does enjoy playing with kitty toys!! BOL!! We also love your poem! Enjoy your Friday!!
We needs this for our 2 boys. This would keep them well occupied while Mom did some chores without kitties.
What a great poem! And the toy looks pawsome! AS does the young handsome man cat playing with it!
Kisses Your Nellie Bellie
We need something like this for Reggie. Despite being 3-5 years old, he has so much energy and is so playful, which usually ends with him being naughty and making a mess or chasing us around the apartment. He’s even worn the laser pointer battery out, and I don’t know where the rest of the AAAs are.
OH! I wish I had one of those!!!
We have one of these to review as well. It sure looks like fun. Please don’t enter us in your giveaway. 🙂
Love the poem! I think Bear would LOVE this toy 🙂
That toy looks like a lot of fun ! You wrote a pretty poem. Purrs
OK! First of all your poem is WONDERFUL……..you combined kitty fun and a review in ONE fabulous poem! That toy looks absolutely AMAZING….truly. Never seen one before NOR have we seen anything like it before. What fun that would be. Even Mr. Wacky Kitten (aka Teddy) would go for this! Thanks for pawticipating in poetry day…………we’re working our way to Z again……….
Love, Angel Sammy and Teddy (I’m not wacky!)
That fox tail thingy looks like fun and so was your kitten poem! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Dat looks like a fun toy!
Cody has it too and is giving it away tomorrow……….my review is going to be quite mixed! Stay tuned………….(hint…..wasn’t a huge hit)
That was a very good poem and we sure did enjoy it. Terrific review!!

best fishes two everee one on ther chance ta win ~~~~~~~♥♥♥
That was a great poem! It looks like a fun toy too, but we will pass on the giveaway because we have a frolicat mouse toy. Plus my cats are couch potatoes like me and don’t play often 🙂 XO
That is such a great poem!
And that tail would keep my two youngest boys from attacking their two senior sisters! Mol
I know I should play with them more but sitting high enough or standing for awhile is very painful..
First, we love your ability to turn any subject into a phenomenal poem! Second, this toy looks like such fantastic fun. I think my girl Eddy would especially love it. It would certainly spare her poor brother Evan’s tail! Thank you sharing this with us, and for giving us the chance to win one for ourselves!
That looks like a lot of fun! As always, you have a great poem. Your mom is a talented poet.
That looks like a great toy for the kitties. Glad Cooper Murphy has a way to play with a tail without bothering his new fur sibs
Cute poem! The toy also looks like fun! George loves toys like that. The others don’t seem to like the battery operated ones as much. I think the sounds sometimes unnerve them. Other cats (Sam and Purrl) we had went wild with toys like that! This is cute. HUGS!
Usually we are not into mechanical toys, but this one sounds like lots of fun!
Wow I have a black cat that looks the same with yours. What a coincidence 😀
That is a pawtastic giveaway poem!!! And we think that tail looks like a kitty we have seen around somewhere…all it needs are a few more rings, MOL!!!
We would love a chance to win this fun looking toy! Thanks for a chance to try to win:)
I have three cats. My older girl, Moko, isn’t really into playing (and less lately than ever since she’s been sick). I’m always looking for ways to keep the other two – Arata (3) and Kotoha (8 months yesterday) – are playful and energetic, and Arata tends to get bored and bother Moko. I think this would really keep Arata and Kotoha busy!
That looks like a cool toy! The tail is almost the same color as Cooper Murphy and Max!
Cute poem and review. We fur sure wanna enter. Maybe ifin we had this, Raena would leave me’s tail alone, ‘specially when me’s in da pawdee box. We’ve got our paws crossed.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
