Friendly Fill-Ins: Week 74
Each Friday we participate in Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). They each select two sentences for us to complete. This week focuses on the month of October and Halloween. My completions are in teal italics. They are not very exciting this week. Sorry!
1. October is the perfect time to enjoy outdoor activities. It’s no longer too hot, and the cold weather hasn’t set in yet.
2. Halloween is for kids. I loved it when I was growing up. We didn’t have to fear people would give us dangerous things when we went Trick-or-Treating. I know some adults absolutely love Halloween and really get into decorating. I have a few small decorations I will put out sometimes, and Dad Tom and I do give out candy.
3. Every October, I enjoy the fall colors and cooler weather. Dad Tom took this photo of the Roanoke Valley (Virginia) last fall.
I also enjoy celebrating Tocktober. This is not a favorite holiday for Kitties Blue, as I follow them around all month trying to get photos of their “tocks” for the official celebration on October 20.
4. My experience with the supernatural world is watching “Ghost Adventures” on the Travel Channel.

We hardly ever get trick or treaters here…
Petcretary loves the fall days too. She spent hours outside today, doing yard chores.
You never met a ghost? I guess only cats can see them. TW hasn’t noticed our trees turning yet.
Thank you for participating, great answers. I love fall foliage too, that is a beautiful photo. We never get trick or treaters ( Have a nice weekend! XO
Fall colors are so pretty – kinda like when Mother Nature makes everything Tortie like! We don’t like Halloween because the doorbell rings. Okay, Isabella doesn’t notice but whatever.
Thank you for reminding us of tocktober. Mom is going to hunt for a photo suitable for that occasion.
It makes me sad how few kids get to trick or treat the way we did. I don’t know why – it’s a whole lot easier and safer these days (trunk or treat … associations holding similar events). I do regret that I didn’t get the joy of having a costume I chose and really loved. My Mom had a ton of old clothes and that was essentially what I had to choose from!
We love October too. The colors start to change and everything is so pretty…and it smells good too. 🙂
We are having a lovely autumn so far this October; warmish and pleasant! If this is the way it’s gonna be, then I may begin to like October!
We love your fill-ins this week! A gorgeous photo. We love fall and fall colors. Having not grown up with the autumn seasonal changes, we love the colors nature brings us now. And cooler, snuggly weather…. Yippee!
Our answers to #1 are pretty much identical. I love being outdoors, but most especially so in autumn. I am one of those adults who loves Halloween. I decorate my house, indoor and out, just as much for Halloween as I do for Christmas. The furbabies around here don’t seem to like having their tocks photographed, and I am having a hard time getting any of them to cooperate for the upcoming Tocktober celebration. Then again, if someone kept pointing a camera at my derrière, I’d be a little cranky as well. Purrs!
You live in a beautiful area! Our leaves here in the Blue Ridge foothills are just beginning to turn. I’m anxious to see what we have in a couple of weeks! I, too, loved Halloween when I was a kid (safer and boatloads of candy!). Now, I’m no longer a fan but enjoy seeing the kids. Where we live now is kind of off the beaten path so we don’t get any Trick-or-Treaters.
Loving your fill-ins and that photo of your valley……the Shenandoah Valley is so gorgeous in the Fall. My Mom and Dad like to go flying in Dad’s plane and take photos of the leaf colors – they aren’t at “peak” yet though! Mom says this Halloween will be strange for us because while Angel Sammy would HIDE from the trick or treaters, I’m going to want to hug all of them and go off trick or treating with them! I might have to hide out in the basement! DARN!
Hugs, Teddy
What pretty trees!
