Caturday Art
As she always does, Mom created today’s art for Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art blog hop. She agreed, however, to allow me to write my very first post. As I have never done this before, I hope you’ll forgive me if I don’t do a very good job.
Our art today was created using a photo Dad Tom took yesterday afternoon after I returned home from the vet. That’s correct, you read that right! Yesterday I got my first vaccinations. I will share more about that after Mom shows off her creation.
Astrid was in the shark bed atop the dining room table when I meandered by on my way to her cocoon bed (the bright blue and grey blob behind the shark bed. We exchanged no meows, growls, hisses or any other form of kitty communication but just stared at each other for a little while.
Mom used the Thoreau filter from the Painnt app, added the blue scroll border using piZap and added the frame with Picasa.
Here’s the original photo for a comparison.
We are entering the arty version in Athena’s blog hop. If you’d like to enter or check out some of the other creations, click on her badge.
Now…more about me!
I had no idea anything unusual was going to occur. Dad put that thing my furblings call a PTU, which I rode in once before, on the dining room table. I got inside and checked it out and then went about my business. A little later Mom shut me in the bathroom. Dad came in with that PTU and loaded me in it.
We went to the car where I sat in the carrier on Mom’s lap. Sometimes I looked out the window. During the entire trip, I did not make even the teeniest sound.
Our vet Dr. Neel is on vacation in a place Mom called, “Paris.” We saw another vet and Tameka, who I hear is my fursibs’ favorite tech. She weighed me. I weigh 5.1 pounds now. Nineteen days ago I only weighed 3.9 pounds. I inspected every inch of the exam room and then got three shots. Because I was very growly, the vet wrapped me up like a “purrito” after the first one. I didn’t try to hurt the vet lady. And she gave me treats when she finished! Score!
I heard some discussions about returning in three weeks for another vaccine and some type of “boy bits” surgery. I need to ask Mau and Cooper Murphy what that’s all about.
On the return trip home, I didn’t make even the littlest chirp. Mom had some additional treats with her and doled them out slowly on the way home. Double score!
I spent most of the remainder of my day in Astrid’s cocoon or the SleepyPod. That was a lot of excitement for a little guy
Sunday Selfies Reminder
I’ve been informed that I must remind all our friends to stop by for Sunday Selfies tomorrow. I think Mom mentioned something about a “two-fur” from us. I don’t know what that is, but I guess I’ll find out tomorrow.
How’d I do? Mom claims I was a bit wordy, and she’d be the one to know!

Excellent job, Sawyer! You sure did a great job at the vet, AND with Astrid. 🙂
Very pretty art. And I am glad your vet trip wasn’t too bad. XO
That shark bed is a bit scary, isn’t it Sawyer, but it made swell art.
Hey Sawyer. We’re glad you survived your trip to the vet. And getting treats? Man, our vet never gives us treats. Can we go to yours??
Sawyer,
You are doing amazing and you are really growing!! We’re so happy you found such a nice home. We know all of you will be best friends before long. We love hearing about your adventures.

Wow you were a good kitty. Good job. you deserved those treats.
Wow, you’re growing so fast! That’s a lot of new weight in a short period of time. I wonder how big you’ll be when it’s all said and done? Can’t wait to find out.

Sawyer, I’m sorry you had to endure the vet but you sure got lots of treats. Yay! You and Astrid look great in your artsy picture!
We want to thank all of you for your lovely Christmas card! Astrid (I’m assuming that’s Astrid) is gorgeous and looks so festive. Thank you!
What a lovely photo ! Well done, Sawyer ! And nice art today ! Purrs
Hi Sawyer! Your Mommy made a great piece of art of you “communicating” with Astrid! And the Vet! I have not been since I came from Iran! I may go when Kozmo, Jo Jo and Cinnamon go when they come to visit next week. They need to have their shots and even though I don’t need anything done to me…but it would be nice to meet him.

Sorry that you have to go and get your “boy bits” sorted out.

You did great with your first post, Sawyer. The art is lovely, and you were both good to just look at each other. Sounds like you were very good on your vet visit too. Being growly is okay, you have to let them know what you think!
We think you did a great job, Sawyer! We just love Astrid in the Shark Bed with you looking on..and the artwork is pawfect!!

Stand off house shot! O Mi Cod, we love this pose. It so captures the way we, um, “LOOK” at each other and we love the shark house thing, not to mention the artsy one.
Now when WE have to share such a house, there’s no sharing. I, Peaches look fixedly at Paprika who usually gets into the house first..at which point she vacates the house immediately and gives it to ME!
Your post brought back happy memories of our last housing activity…
You did a great job, Sawyer! Your art looks terrific too. And you were a brave boy at the vet. Purrfect!
Well done, Sawyer! Both the visit to the vet and the visit with Astrid! You’re so adorable! 🙂
Sawyer – you did so well I’m very proud of you little guy……trust me – the boy bits thing is no big deal. Trust me. Cooper and Mau will tell you! I had boy bit stuff done when I first landed in the shelter before my Mom and Dad adopted me! Anyway, I think the photo is grand of you spying in the shark bed – tee hee – hoping she’d move right? Happy Caturday!
Hugs, Teddy
I think you went on a cool adventure, Sawyer! Okay, so most kitties don’t think it’s all that cool.
That is a really cool pic of the two of you. Live the fish, too.
