Friendly Fill-Ins: Week 62
Once again, I am joining Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Annie’s (McGufffy’s Reader) weekly fill-in blog hop. It’s always interesting to see what sentences they select for us to complete. Sometimes they are cat-friendly and Kitties Blue can complete them. Other times, like this week, they are more human-oriented. Anyhoo, here’s how I completed the fill-ins this week. As always, my completions are in teal italics.
1. My inner child likes to color; though, I haven’t had much time for it since I became a member of my 50th High School Reunion planning committee and started researching to find missing classmates.
2. My favorite month is probably December, as I love all the Christmas lights and decorations. I did not decorate last Christmas, as I just didn’t have the heart after Fiona passed on December 1.
Some Christmas photos from 2015. Maybe if we all stare at these long enough, we can channel some cooler temperatures!
3. My favorite commercial(s) is are the ones for Progressive Insurance with Susan Lucci, as they always make me laugh as do the State Farm Insurance commercials with J.K. Simmons, especially the one with the synchronized swimming dogs in the flooded living room. To be truthful, I usually zone out when commercials are on, and in most cases I fast forward through them as I record most things on DVR.
4. Personally, I don’t care for okra, rude and disrespectful people, individuals who are cruel to animals and those who abandon their pets.
Both Annie and Ellen post the fill-in statements on their blogs on Thursday, and on Friday we complete them and then zip on over to Annie’s to link up for the blog hop. If you haven’t joined in, why not? This is a great way to learn more about your blogging friends. Click on the badge at the top of the post to be transported to McGuffy’s Reader.
Caturday Art
Tomorrow is Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty‘s Caturday Art blog hop. This is another hop not to be missed. It gives you the opportunity to use the many photo-editing apps and your imagination to create something beautiful, unusual, funky, etc.
Tomorrow, Kitties Blue will be having a guest artist. We’ve already had a sneak peek at the art. We are certain you will like it. So please come back to visit then.
Those Christmas images sure do make us feel several degrees cooler here!
Sometimes when petcretary feels way too hot she listens to baroque music…that often even cools her down to feeling goosebumps! It calms her spirit too, like when she has had a bad day at her job…
Wow! Those are beautiful Christmas decorations! Such beautiful ornaments.
I hope that you’ll be able to find time to color again soon. It is no fun to be so busy that you can’t do the things you enjoy and find relaxing.
I hope all goes well with the reunion.
Have a blessed evening.
we totally agree with you on rude people and people who do not care for their animals!!!
LOVE your Christmas ornaments!
TW found so many of her old classmates on FB. OTOH, Pop says none of his are on FB.
I agree with all your fill-ins!!
Mama cannot enjoy December fully; she can only see all the tasks to do. We need to knead on her more vigorously during the this month.
We really enjoyed your responses…and your Christmas lights. We did feel some coolness when we viewed them. Thanks for that. 🙂
What lovely Christmas ornaments. If a kitty passes just before Christmas…dedicate that Christmas to their spirit. It is so distressing when a furry one passes. It was good advice but I don’t know if I could follow it.

Beautiful pictures! We don’t get many commercials because we don’t have cable TV! 😉
Strange coincidence – there was Christmas music on PBS tv last night. Turned out to be something about Mannheim Steamroller, and a little of them goes a long way for me, so I ended up changing the channel. Your Christmas photos are beautiful.
Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I understand your not decorating last Christmas. These photos of Christmas past are amazing, you could be a professional decorator. I love researching things so looking for lost classmates sounds fun despite the fact that I would not attend a reunion. I try to dvr everything to avoid commercials too. Have a great weekend! XO
Ah…nice tree. I like the Progressive commercials with Flo. But, critters commercials are my favourites. I think people who are mean to their pets are the same ones who are generally rude and disrespectful…they probably eat okra! Well, that all describes some step-relatives (childhood).
I often think of Fiona. She is special to me. I hope she watches out for kindred spirits, like Chloe Jo. It breaks my heart.
We love, love, love Christmas! Hey, my Mom has a picture of her with Susan Lucci from when they had lunch together several years ago.
We detest animal abusers. It boggles our mind what kind of sick person would ever hurt an animal. We like Christmas though and we enjoyed your photos!
It’s summertime! Let’s enjoy warmth for awhile! Don’t want snow and cold…nope! Make me worry about The ‘O’ Cats too much.
I cannot abide animal abusers. I detest them with everything I have. There IS no excuse for them.
I love the Angie’s list commercials. They crack me up!
How can any of us forget the Herding Cats commercial that premiered on one of the Super Bowls ?
Beautiful pictures! I like the Susan Lucci commercials for Progressive too. As for people who are cruel to animals…blech! Just the thought of them makes me ill.
I also love December, and I had so much trouble choosing between it and October for my fill-ins. I always love seeing your Christmas pictures, because they are just so gorgeous. This Christmas you will have an extra special angel watching over you. Wonderful fill-ins, as always!
My favorite commercial ever is the German Coast Guard by Berlitz.

Oh your Christmas lights and all the decorations make me wish it was Christmas! I’ve never had one since I was adopted so this year will be – interesting! The cooler temps will be welcomed for sure although I tend to be a “hot house flower” preferring the HOT garage to the cool house. Go figure. I managed to do the fill-ins on our blog today but I think Mom thinks SHE could have done a better job!
Love and Hugs, Teddy
I can’t remember if I said this in a comment or if it’s just been floating through my head for the past couple weeks, but we miss Fiona.
We agree about animal cruelty and abandonment. So many people make excuses, but the statistics support that people who abuse animals will also abuse people in a domestic situation. I try hard to understand why people do things – and many times, I can refrain from judging … but animal abuse and abandonment are completely inexcusable. I can’t manage to feel sorry for the perpetrators no matter what (maybe it’s a character flaw of mine? I try to approach everyone with love and understanding … but I just can’t do it with people who hurt animals directly or indirectly).
