Sparks: Blog Hop Week #18
Dad Tom and I got up early last Tuesday morning to check out the Super Blue Blood Moon. Being on the east coast and with our view somewhat obscured by tress, we did not see the eclipse. (This photo was taken just as it started.) But Dad Tom got some pretty good photos from our front yard. Waiting to see if we’d be able to see some of the eclipse made me think about our expectations in life. As I searched for a quote to accompany Tom’s photo, I came across several that would have been appropriate. This, however, is the one that spoke to both me and the kitties’ dad. Maybe it will speak to you as well.
Often our expectations may not be met, but that is no reason to go forward with a pessimistic or negative attitude. And if you believe in silver linings, as I do, even a bad outcome can turn out to be okay.
I am joining Annie (McGuffy’s Reader) for her Sparks blog hop. In establishing the hop, she wrote this, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!” This is what makes Sparks so special and why I look forward to participating each week.
If you’d like to join the hop, click on the Sparks badge.
Great shots of a unique event which I am sure was worth getting up for.
Cheers Sharon…
I always say, “Perspective is everything.” I believe it, too. If we say we seek happiness, we need to have a clear vision of exactly what that is to us. Unfortunately, many never really know what they want, clinging to what they think makes them happy…or at least safe. Hugs. Sparks: 18

I think you chose the perfect quote to go with the photo. XO
I believe that moon caused all kinds of trouble with my computer! I swear, it musta been that moon!
Wow, what a great pic! We didn’t get to see the eclipse either. It was too cloudy here.
The power of positive thinking is…well…very powerful! Great Spark!
Miss MM I, Spittola, would be more than deee-lighted to escort you! I am not sure I even know how to get to Cat Scouts anymore, though, or if I am even still registered–it has been a l-o-n-g time–furever, I think. But if you could send me a message with some info at spittythekitty@gmail.com, I will test it out this weekend! XOXOXO
Oh this is so true. Life is full of choices, we just need to make the right ones.
Have a fabulous day filled with wonderfulness. 🙂
Great photo! I missed out, not paying attention to what *time* to go look. I thought it was after the next sunset. Ha! Be well.
What a gorgeous photo he caught of the moon! And the perfect quote. I actually slept through it. Guess I was thinking that my old iPhone wouldn’t be able to get a decent photo anyway through all the trees! 😆
What a moon shot! Surely a spark seen from afar
That’s a beautiful photo and a terrific Spark!
I love that picture! And it’s so true that expectations and how we think about things shape our reality.
Like Summer’s Mom, MY mom slept right on through!
What a terrific photo……and great quote as well. Someone once said to me that if I lowered my expectations I wouldn’t be so disappointed all the time – I say I will forever EXPECT the best and when I don’t reach that goal, I will just remind myself that all things happen for a reason – but I will always keep my eyes on the prize. Here’s to a “better than expected” week ahead! Thanks for the great spark.
Hugs, Pam
Can you believe my human slept through the Super Blue Blood Moon? I’m not sure what she was thinking! And we had bright, clear skies too.
My momma’s trying to be more positive – it’s tuff sometimes.
The picture of the moon in the trees looks like the opening scene for a spooky novel. The spark is so true. May I also add that our light becomes a beacon that attracts others. I like it.
