WIN A KITTYROO SWEATSHIRT

Friday Fill-Ins (Week #47) & KittyRoo Sweatshirt Review and Giveaway

FriendlyFillIns

I am combining our fill-ins (hosted by Annie from McGuffy’s Reader and Ellen of 15 And Meowing) today with a review and a giveaway. My completions are in teal italics. This is a blog hop. To join, go to Annie’s blog.

If you aren’t interested in my completions, skip to the second half of the post.

1. The first thing I think about in the morning is unlocking the cat door so the kitties can go out on the catio.

2. The last thing I think about before sleep is who needs my prayers, prior to saying them.

3. I am looking forward to the upcoming BlogPaws Conference. If you’d like to attend, it is not too late to register. The conference is being held in Myrtle Beach, SC, from May 18 – 20.

4. I am so pleased I got to try out, review and give away a KittyRoo sweatshirt.

The kitties and I are fortunate to have the opportunity to review a variety of products. Most are quite good and receive a positive review from us. For me, however, the KittyRoo sweatshirt tops the list of my favorites. If you are a lover of kitties, whether you have any or not, this is a must have. Not only is it cute with cat ears on the hood, but it is also as comfy as your jammies and super warm. With our crazy spring weather and me being sick for a month, I’ve worn it almost every day.

But there’s more to the KittyRoo than human comfort. The KittyRoo has a built-in snuggle pouch. The KittyRoo sweatshirt allows you to hold, and cuddle your pet in the pouch while you do other things. The ideal use for the KittyRoo is to offer a feeling of security to new kittens and puppies with which you are trying to bond. It also is perfect for those fostering.

Of course, most of Kitties Blue are too big to fit in the pouch, and the ones that aren’t were not excited about having their photo taken. Though she was less than cooperative, Astrid let her dad take some photos of her in the pouch.

Additional KittyRoo specifics:
  • Built-in pouch is removable for ease in cleaning
  • Extra-long drawstrings with pom-pom tips for kitties’ amusement. Calista Jo and Lily Olivia particularly enjoy sitting in my lap and playing with these.
  • Super-soft fleece material

The KittyRoo sweatshirt is available in sizes M-XXL. I have the medium and it is very roomy. It retails for $29.99 plus shipping and handling and can be ordered from the KittyRoo website (link above). An online exclusive offer to purchase a second KittyRoo for an additional $19.99 is available as well. You can find much better photos than ours on the web-site.

For an opportunity to win your very own KittyRoo sweatshirt, leave a comment on this post prior to Thursday, April 6, at 5 p.m. ET. Winner will be selected using Random.org and announced the following day.

Disclosure: Kitties Blue received the KittyRoo Sweatshirt free of charge to test and review. We were not financially compensated for this post nor told what to write. The opinions are completely those of Kitties Blue and their human based on our experiences.

TALE OF THE POD POTATO

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

screen-shot-2016-08-31-at-8-45-29-pm

The Tale of the Pod Potato

Do you have a special place you like to nap?
Is it on the floor or in a cozy lap?
What about a cat tree or a window ledge?
Is it upon your human’s pillow or bed?
For me, nothing but a Sleepypod will do.
That is why we now have two.
If I must wait around to get my turn
To curl in the warm place for which I yearn,
The Sleepypod interloper better watch out—
I’ll give them a whack. There isn’t any doubt!
Summer, winter, spring or fall,
I hear the pod’s silent, yet seductive call,
Asking me to step inside for a snooze.
If someone wants my spot, there will be dues.
Treats and catnip toys will be accepted,
But if they enter my pod, they’ll be rejected.
When I’m in my pod, only I will fit.
I’m a pod potato and darn proud of it.

So that’s my poem and photo for Two Spoiled Cats’ Thoroughly Poetic Thursday. Did you guess the prompt letter for this week? If you didn’t, it is “P.” Hop on over to Angel Sammy’s and Teddy’s blog to read their poem and find links to poems written by some of your favorite bloggers.

Thankful Thursday

It was easy to select for what I am thankful. It is that we now have two SleepyPods. I spend the day popping between the two following the sun. Mom keeps trying to convince me to spend some time on the catio, but I won’t budge. Today, Dad Tom put one of the pods on the catio thinking I might take the bait. I guess he didn’t get the memo stating that I am a cat, and I do what I want. At that is what I did. That pod remained empty on the catio all afternoon.

Anyhoo, I am joining the Thankful Thursday blog hop sponsored by Brian’s Home. To join, click on their badge.

TWINKLY TORTIE TUESDAY

Our Astrid does like herself some bling! When she and the love of her life, Sampson Hall, were married at the BlogPaws Conference last June, Sampy gave her an iridescent lavender collar. Attached were three slide-on charms: an S, a rhinestone heart and an A. At first I thought we might save the collar for special occasions, but as all the kitties wear their collars 24/7, Astrid has not had her collar off since she received it.

A couple of days ago, Astrid received a belated Valentine present from Sampy—two new charms. I wanted to get some photos that she could send to Sampy. Of course, Astrid decided to flaunt her tortitude and refused to look at me.

Astrid shows of collar charms

Astrid shows off collar charms

Though, she persisted in ignoring me, I finally was able to get a great photo of both her original and her new charms.

The new charms are the four-leaf clover and the peridot birthstone. Astrid’s birthday is in August. This is what Sampy wrote to Astrid: “The birthstone signifies my favorite month of the entire year – the month you were born. And the four-leaf clover signifies that you are my good luck charm for life. You must look so beautiful wearing all your bling.”

Astrid is praying that Sampy does think she looks beautiful.

I have linked to Astrid and Sampson’s wedding post (in the first paragraph) in case you missed it.

CHARMING CALICO CHARLOTTE

Sunday Selfies: Week #137

Yippee…Sunday Selfies and none of us had to snap a photo of ourself!

Today we have an extra special guest host. And here she is now.

Sunday Selfies with Charlotte

This is Charlotte, and we shared her with you once before. Charlotte is our current cat we sponsor at PAWS of Connecticut. After our sweet Swizzle was finally adopted, we had a bit of a problem getting another kitty to support. Every kitty we selected was quickly adopted. Finally, PAWS assigned Charlotte to us, and we couldn’t be happier. Isn’t she beautiful?

Though we gladly sponsor this gorgeous girl, our sincere wish is that she will find a loving and forever home sooner than later.

Charlotte is about three years old. She was a stray living on the streets with a litter of kittens. A kind lady started taking care of mom and kittens, but could not bring her into her home. Fearing Charlotte and the female kittens would become, pregnant, she took them to PAWS.

Though Charlotte is said to be shy, our friend and PAWS volunteer, Kevin (AKA meowmeowmans), says that she is sweet and gentle. She loves to be petted and brushed and will make air biscuits when her tummy is rubbed. She is good with other cats but timid around small children.

Charlotte is spayed, current on her vaccinations, microchipped and negative for FIV and FeLV.

If you or anyone you know would love to have this comely calico as a member of your family, please contact PAWS of Connecticut by clicking here or visiting them at 504 Main Ave, Norwalk, CT 06851. And please consider sponsoring a PAWS cat or a cat at your local shelter.

Cat4-001This is our Sunday Selfies blog hop. We are so grateful to all of you who join us every week and the newbies who join each week. We thought you all would tire of this by now, and some have. But the participation is still terrific. That always makes Kitties Blue purr.

The link to join the hop is below as is the code to add the hop to your blog post. We are happy to have you do this and only ask that you link back to The Cat on My Head and/or display our badge.

C.J.’S RED & BLUE PERIOD

Caturday Art

Today I m going to start with the original photo. This is Calista Jo hanging out in the cat tree cubby on the catio. Though she barely fits, this is her favorite spot when the weather is warm. We almost reached 70 degrees F today.

Caturday Art with C.J.

Many Caturday artists have been using LunaPic lately, so I decided to start there. This is what I created.

Caturday Art with C.J.

To create this art, I first added Lego Style from Effects. Then I added the Water Filter and finally the Watercolor Art at about 70 percent. I particularly like all the various textures.

I needed a frame and added this one using piZap. As it covered up a good deal of the original art, I wanted to share the interim piece with you.

POEM ABOUT AN ORANGE CAT

Thoroughly Poetic and Thankful Thursday

screen-shot-2016-08-31-at-8-45-29-pm

Our prompt letter for today’s poem is “O.” After much thought, I was not coming up with a theme. Then our poetry host, Two Spoiled Cats Angel Sammy’s mom, Pam, suggested we each write about our newest (orange cat) family members, Cooper Murphy and Teddy. Sounded good to me.

Orange Cat Cooper Murphy

Orange is the color of our tabby’s fur.
His sweet disposition makes him purr.
But he’s also quirky and silly,
Rolls around on his back willy-nilly.
He has a passion for the red laser dot,
Chases it around from spot to spot.
He‘s a member of the clean plate club
And is becoming quite a “little” chub.
My previous orange tabby was a mama’s boy.
For Cooper it’s birdies and squirrels he enjoys.
He spends his days on the catio on guard,
Where he can see the feeders and backyard.
After dinner he curls up and sleeps all night,
Until his tummy clock goes off at first light.
This orange kitty has made our family complete.
Thanks, Fiona, for bringing us this cat so sweet.

This is also Thank Thursday. Today I am most thankful for the suggestion of good friend Pam to write about our newest family member. I do feel a smidge badly that Cooper Murphy is being featured two days in a row, and I am certain I will hear some complaints from the other Kitties Blue.

KOOKY KITTENS CAT MASSAGE ROLLER REVIEW/GIVEAWAY

Kooky Kittens Cat Massage RollerEvery kitty loves a good massage, and we have found the purrfect tool to facilitate that, the Kooky Kittens Cat Massage Roller. This simple, yet unique tool, consisting of a two-piece handle with a total of nine knobby rollers can be used with one, two or three roller heads (see photo on right). The
adjustable handle allows the Massage Roller to adapt to the shape and size of any cat. Some of Kitties Blue are a bit chunky, so the roller works best with the center piece removed when using it for a full-body massage.

To see the tool in action, checkout this video by Kooky Kittens, showing the Cat Massage Roller and another Kooky Kitten roller product.

Kitties Blue have some photos of them enjoying massages to share as well.

Kooky Kittens Review

Not all Kitties Blue were equally enthusiastic. Cooper Murphy only enjoyed the massage with the single, center roller, especially on the top of his head. My arm gets tired of rolling before he gets tired of having his head massaged.

Cooper also enjoyed chewing on the rollers. For this reason, we suggest putting the Massage Roller out of reach of the kitties when not in use.

Others, like Calista Jo, found the massage quite enjoyable, but took off as soon as the camera appeared. No surprise there.

We think most kitties will find a Kooky Kittens massage quite enjoyable; though, it may take them a bit to get accustomed to it. Kitties Blue suggest you begin with the center, single roller if your cat seems hesitant at first.

Kooky Kittens is a cat toy and product retailer focused on giving cat guardians unique products to ensure their cats will always be having the
time of their lives.

If you’d like to have your very own Cat Massage Roller, leave a comment on this post prior to Sunday, March 26, at 5 p.m. ET, for an opportunity to win one. Winner will be selected using Random.org and will be announced on Tuesday, the 28th.
